Waterways Celebrates 25th Anniversary
Waterways Cruises Celebrates 25 Year Milestone by Partnering with Non-Profit and Offering Special Discounts to Guests
SEATTLE, Wash.—(May 1, 2019) — Waterways Cruises and Events is proud to celebrate 25 years of providing their guests with high quality dining and event experiences on the water.
To celebrate this special milestone, Waterways has planned a series of events to mark its 25th Anniversary. Special promotions and celebrations include discounts, a social media contest and an Anniversary Celebration Cruise in the Opening Boat Day Parade on May 4, 2019.
Hilton Smith and his wife Shirley Turnbow started Waterways Cruises in April of 1994 as a hobby, offering yacht entertainment charters. Within a year, the hobby turned into a full-time private cruise venture. Since its founding, Waterways has successfully expanded its operations to four luxury yachts, becoming Seattle’s premier dining cruise and event company, accommodating upwards of 60,000 guests per year for weddings, corporate events, special celebrations and unique public dining cruises.
Waterways Cruises and Events Co-Founder, Shirley Turnbow, contributes the growth and success of the company to the great staff members they’ve had throughout the years. “We also want to thank everyone who has cruised with us in the past 25 years,” said Turnbow. “It has been our absolute pleasure to have you on board and we appreciate your support.”
Waterways would like to congratulate ROOTS Young Adult Shelter on their 20th Anniversary of providing services and shelter to young adults experiencing homelessness in the Seattle area. ROOTS will be joining Waterways on the cruise in the Opening Boat Day Parade.
ROOTS Young Adult Shelter Development Manager, Kristen Lound, said he appreciates the gesture and relationship that has been built with Waterways over the last few years. “As a non-profit on a limited budget, we don’t often get to treat our donors to these types of experiences, said Lound. “We’re excited to partner with Waterways for this special cruise that not only celebrates their 25th Anniversary, but also honors ROOTS’ 20th Anniversary.
