AN OPEN LETTER TO THE CLASS OF 2017

A big congratulations to the Class of 2017! This day marks the flip of the page to the next chapter of your life. Just for you I have written three pieces; the first for the Graduates who have worked so hard to get to where they are, the second to the parents who can give a collective sigh of relief that they will never write another tuition check again, and the third for all the above.

Dear parents,
Amidst the pomp and circumstance and caps being flung into the air, there is that feeling of great accomplishment. They worked hard. They earned this. And you were there to guide them along the way. You stayed up with them at two in the morning as they rallied to finish a project. You sat through every play, every recital, every game, every presentation to give them the confidence they feel today. After your graduate walks across the stage on that special day, make it a day to remember for friends and family by joining us on one of our dining cruises where you can celebrate their success with stunning views of Seattle, a gourmet meal, and a captain’s narration of the sights.

On behalf of all those on the other side of the stage, welcome. It may come as a shock to you, but there is life after graduation.
